DataCenterGuidelines.com discusses commercial products in the context of engineering design. Credibility depends on how that is handled, so the rules are stated here explicitly.
01Engineering content aims to remain technically objective
Guides and articles describe engineering problems, design options and selection criteria before any commercial product is discussed. Recommendations are framed in terms of requirements an engineer can verify, not brand preference.
02Product affiliations are disclosed
The author works in the industrial automation industry and has professional experience with Yaskawa drive technology. Product-specific information should always be verified using the latest manufacturer documentation. This disclosure appears wherever vendor-specific products are discussed in technical content.
03Vendor-specific content is clearly labelled
Sections and pages that discuss a specific manufacturer's product are identified as such — for example, the "Example drive platform" section of the VFD design guide and the dedicated product pages. Vendor-neutral engineering guidance is kept separate from product material.
04Manufacturer claims should be referenced
Product capabilities stated on this site are based on manufacturer documentation available at the time of writing. Readers must verify product-specific information against the latest official documentation before specifying or purchasing equipment.
05Technical recommendations are based on engineering merit
Where this site suggests that a product can fulfil a requirement, the requirement comes first: it is defined in vendor-neutral terms so that any compliant product can be evaluated against it. No content is published in exchange for payment from equipment vendors.
